Ralph Waldo Emerson is the most important and far-reaching thinkerand writer in the United States during nineteen century. His theory containsmany aspects of religion, philosophy, literature, arts, and social system.Nature is both the masterpiece and the first official publication of Emerson,it is seen as the foundation and blueprint of his writing career. Emerson·sview about nature can not be separated from his religious background andlife experiences. So the relationship with Plato, Coleridge and Wordsworthwill be discussed in the essay, Natureμ will be the entry point to discussEmerson·s literature view.The first chapter mainly discusses the definition and use of naturefrom Emerson, and analyzes the relationship between nature and hiswritings. The second chapter shows the Emerson·s writing background anddescribes the different from Puritanism, Platonism and English Romanticpoetry. The third chapter analyzes the three uses of Nature, which includesCommodity, Beauty and Languageμ. In addition, the more secret use ofNature Disciplineμ will be discussed in this chapter. The fourth chapterconcentrates on the Emerson·s view of poetics with his essay The Poetμ.His mind of nature and soul are appearing and enriched in this topic.
