This article aims to carry out research and analysis the traditional techniques of modern folkrobe. Research objects in this paper include three parts, First, observation and measurement themodern folk robe which are collected in the College of Textile and Garment, Southern YangtzeUniversity, Summarize the modern folk robe’s shape characteristics, and restored the folk robestructure in Jiangnan and Zhongyuan area which are served as a typical example of folk robe;Second, for the workmanship of modern folk robe, recorded, analysis and researched the specificprocess of making modern folk robe and recovered gown making process by visiting the folkhandcraft descendant;Third,analyze the modern folk robe structure and handicraft characteristic.First this paper observe34pieces of modern folk robes and44pieces of modern folkcheongsam which are collected in the College of Textile and Garment, Southern YangtzeUniversity,recordsand summarizes the modern folk robe shape characteristics, and then measure the sevenpieces of Zhongyuan robes and nine pieces of Jiangnan improved cheongsam to restore the structureof the modern folk robe.Second, through visiting the folk handcraft descendant, detailed record the specific productionprocess (cutting and sewing process) of the modern folk robe by face-to-face conversation, cameraand note, finally record, analysis and research the record material,at last in the form of text andpicture to record and restore modern folk robe production process.Finally, further discusses the traditional craft of modern folk robe, from the structure andworkmanship these two aspects to analyze the modern folk robe.
