Mongolia is a landlocked country in central Asia, and China is animportant southern neighbor of Mongolia. Mongolia has rich mineralreserves and huge potential investment market. So for china with theenergy shortage and lack of domestic market demand and Mongolia, it isundoubtedly a win-win choice to take advantage of their comparativeadvantages and strengthen economic and trade cooperation withMongolia. Therefore, the research on Sino-Mongolian economic andtrade relations after the Cold War has a certain practical significance forbuilding long-term mechanism for the development of bilateral economicand trade, establishing mutually beneficial economic and trade exchanges,and promoting better development of bilateral economic and traderelations.This paper, based on the historical review of the bilateral economicand trade relations and current bilateral economic development, point outthat the present situation of Sino-Mongolian economic and tradecooperation, and depict the characteristics of its development usingscientific research methods and accurate data as well as predict itsdevelopment.therefore some effective advice are put forward to solve theproblem involving the Sino-Mongolian economic and trade cooperation.The first part briefly review the course development of bilateraleconomic and trade relations after China and Mongolia establisheddiplomatic relations.since combing the, on this basis, describe theeconomic development of China and Mongolia. The second part is theliterature review about the cooperation between China and Mongolia aftercold war using the qualitative and quantitative methods. The writeranalyze the current situation of Sino-Mongolian economic and tradecooperation from two respects: First is the current investment situationfrom China to Mongolia. Second is the bilateral trade and economicsituation. The third chapter systematically analyzes the characteristics ofthe bilateral economic and trade cooperative relations since the end of the Cold War, and analyzes its development characteristics and forecast thefuture development applying the” geopolitics" in the international politicsand "International Trade Theory" in the international economics. In thefourth chapter, the writer points out that the problems exited in theeconomic and trade cooperation between China and Mongolia as well asanalyze the reasons, moreover, put forward some effective advice anddevelopment ideas.
