China has been having a close relationship with South Korea in political,economic, cultural and other fields for thousands of years. With the rising of thepopularity in learning Chinese, Korean people’s focus on China is increasing and theirenthusiasm of learning Chinese is growing. In Korea, Chinese teaching in primary andsecondary schools has been being gradually carried out for several years.In this paper, on the basis of TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language)compiling principles and the practical teaching experience, the writer analyzedKorean middle school students’ textbook Daily life Chinese. This paper mainlyconsists of five parts: introduction, analysis on the structure of the textbook, analysison the linguistic elements in the textbook, advantages and disadvantages, andconclusion.In the first part, the writer mentioned the value and significance of topic selection,introduced studying background and objective, meanwhile summarized somescholars’ study to compiling principles of textbooks and some features of thetextbooks used in foreign countries.The main contents of this paper are in Part II and III. In Part II, the writer deeplyanalyzed the textbook from the aspect of structure. The writer, at first, brieflyintroduced general features of this textbook, and then analyzed the selecting andcompiling characteristics in terms of texts, exercises and culture, such as topics andcharacters of the texts, forms and contents of the exercises.In Part Ⅲ, linguistic elements in this book were analyzed, the writer analyzed thearrangement of phenetics, grammar, vocabulary and Chinese characters.In Part Ⅳ, the writer tried to find advantages and disadvantages based on theanalyzation above.Finally, some suggestions were put forward for the textbook. The suggestionsmainly contain the following three points: to extend cultural content, to strengthen thestructure scientifically and systematically, and to identify learners meticulously.Meanwhile,the writer made a conclusion and hoped that this paper can provide somehelps for the Chinese teachers who are teaching in Korean middle schools in theaspects of selecting and compiling textbooks, and provide some feasible suggestionsfor other teachers, especially those who are teaching middle school students.
