Shared anthropology was proposed by the anthropologist Jean Rouch when he wasmaking anthropology documentary film.Jean Rouch thought that the photographer andphotographed had generated a relationship through interaction which he called sharedanthropology.Different from the previous film,"sharing" makes the photographer andphotographed work together to make a movie,to share the author identity, and the recognitionand grasp of the image is not one-way.Therefore,the subjects are no longer passive anymore. As shared anthropology theory develops up to now, sharing doesn’t just mean aphotographer and the photographed to communicate,or to interact, but also means giving thecameras to the photographed, and let them shoot and manifest their culture. The method ofshared anthropology brings a lot of changes to the creation of documentary, and therelationship between photographer and photographed, the shooting angle, the ways ofexpression are all very different.Since the nineteen sixties, the theory of shared anthropology was introduced into thecreation of general documentary in the west and this behavior has made many outstandingachievements. The theory of shared anthropology hasn’t been payed much attention in China, and the practice to apply this method in documentary creation consciously is not much. Inview of this, the author will study documentary from the angle of anthropology documentary. This article is based on the theory of shared anthropology which is used in the creation ofanthropology documentary, and takes "Villager documentary project" which is a sharedanthropology imaging practice as the case to study up. Through the method of text analysis,Iwill analyze the village author’s works of "villager documentary project",and with relatedissues,I will dialogue documentary filmmaker Wu Wenguang in order to explore that thechanges to documentary brought about by shared anthropology as a research method and thatwhether the changes will give enlightment to the creation of present documentary.
