What is happiness? How can people gain happiness? Such kind of questions about happiness is always a major difficultly of Ethics since ancient time. Most people are pursuing happiness as their ultimate goal of life. As the core technology of our era, computer had led a popularity of pc and networks all over the world. The vigorous impact of the web in time and space is that it created a virtual world which is quite different from the physical world---cyberspace. For the first time, people are living by the meantime in a real world and a virtual world. Especially in recent years, Internet has become an integral part of people’s lives. Adult Internet users spend a portion of time on the network every day and there are more and more people think that virtual networks can bring them more happiness feelings.This paper attempts to analysis the concept of virtual happiness, the reason of its existence and types of virtual happiness that people can get from the cyberspace. It also discusses about how to judge and select good behavior from bad ones on Internet in order to lead a better use of the Internet to get a better feeling of happiness for people.The paper is divided into five parts:the first chapter is the introduction, the exposition of the problem, research background and significance. The second chapter is a about the concept of happiness, the network society and virtual happiness as well as differences between virtual happiness and real happiness. Chapter Three analysis the reason of virtual happiness’s existence from three parts:the development of information technology, change of real-world environmental and people’s needs of freedom which makes it possible to pursuit virtual happiness on network. The Fourth Chapter is about types of virtual happiness according to the purpose of Internet users. There are four major categories:cognitive happiness, intercourse happiness, leisure happiness and creativity happiness. The final chapter is the conclusion.
