An Analysis On Xu Wei’s Arrogant Style In Flower And Bird Paintings With Freehand Style

After the middle Ming Dynasty, the development of Chinese painting began to enter into an important transition period, which was marked by freehand brushwork in wash painting. The representative painter is Xu Wei. Based on the previous development, Xu Wei has made great progress not only in the creation of painting but also in theory, which contributed to the maturity and perfection of freehand style of flower and bird paintings, and also helped him gain an important position in the history of Chinese painting development. In his art creation, he got rid of the bound of traditional norms and sway the ink with a heart which belonged to the emotions.Neither the natural feeling of the true temperament nor the true nature have not reflected his uninhibited personality.
