The Study On The Sequence Priority Of"Ruguo&Name" Conditional Sentence

This article sets "ruguo(如果)&name(那么)”conditionals as the research object. Based on the idea that language study should not only study in the diversity but also study in the tendentiousness, this article sets up a small database as a closed corpora to study prior sequences of different sentence types of the" ruguo(如果)&name(那么)" conditionals based on the analyze of using frequencies of different sentence patterns. Then this article studies the priority and tries to give explanation of it from the perspective of language typology theory, cognitive linguistics theory, discourse linguistics theory and so on.This paper includes following parts:The first chapter mainly shows the motivation and significance of this study and has a brief review of present situation of this kind of research.The second chapter summarizes the correlatively marked patterns of "ruguo (如果)&name(那么)"conditionals. We classify correlatively marked patterns into three types: the Periphery-dependence, the Middle-bonding and Supporting-around.At the same time, we also expounds the influence which syntax, discourse and clause order have on correlatively marked patterns.In the third chapter, we make statistics study of the priority sequencing of "ruguo(如果)&name(那么)"conditionals based on different language styles, including the priority order of" ruguo (如果)"type of conditional in all kinds of conditional sentences, the priority sequence of "ruguo(如果)&name(那么)”conditionals in the " ruguo(如果)’’type of conditional sentences and the priority sequence of the correlative marked patterns in" ruguo (如果)&name (那么)" conditional.The fourth chapter mainly makes effort to give a multi-angle explanation from the semantic, syntactic, cognitive, and the language style angles based on the statistics study of Chapter3.The fifth Chapter discusses the word order of the clauses of" ruguo (如果)&name(那么)”conditional sentences. First of all, the chapter describes the order of the clauses and infers that the conditional clause used front is in dominant position of the order. Then, we explain the reasons of conditional clause used front from different angles. By means of making statistic study of conditional clause postposition in different language styles, we proved the presume that in the" ruguo(如果)&name (那么)"conditionals, the conditional clause used front and the result clause used behind is universal phenomenon. Meanwhile, we found that in different language styles, the tendency of conditions clause used behind are different.In spoken language, it is the most easy to use behind and in science technology can not be easy to use rear.Epilogue part summarizes the main contents and draws the conclusion. Through the study of general language use and the study in different language styles, we can find a series of priority sequencing of " ruguo(如果)&name(那么)" conditional sentences, that is, the general feature of" ruguo (如果)&name(那么)"conditional sentences is that "ruguo(如果)&name (那么)"conditional sentences are used in a high frequency; the Periphery-dependence is used prior in the correlative marked patterns; Supporting-around also used in a high frequency in formal language styles like science and technology language style; Preposition with the conditional clause used front is used more frequently while in spoken language style it is more likely to use conditional clause behind.
