A Study On Tree Drawing Technique In Wang Meng’s Landscape Painting

Wang Meng was a famous painter of Yuan dynasty. He had varied and unique drawing methods, in which implied the eternal theorem and essence of Traditional Chinese Painting. The thesis strarts from the tree technique in Wang Meng’s landscape paintings, to study thecharacteristics,values and influences of Wang’s landscape paintings, and understand the observing mode; landscaping consciousness in Traditional Chinese Painting.Wang Meng had unique idea how to express trees in the paiting.in his painting, the different and colorful figures, the deal of the space and some self-creation skills.in that time he had painting ideas different from the former dynasties. When we reflect from the historical perspective, wen can see that the painting of Wang Meng showed the development of the Chinese traditional landscape painting, and what we have uniquely: observing mode, landscaping consciousness, space treatment, pen and ink, the stylization of object image.The thesis draws the conclusion that We have unique traditional portrayal mode and different from western countries, which should be understood and inherited by us. Meanwhile,they are also the important basis and has important directive significance of Chinese Traditional Landscape Painting of today.
