The residents language variate largely in the city of Puyang (Zhongyuan Oilfield)in Henan. This paper takes Zhongyuan Oilfield as a case study, according to the theoryof sociolinguistics variation as the guidance, use the investigation method of citylanguage, analyses the elements of internal and external (social elements) for languagevariation, then conclude the regular pattern of language variation.In addition, we use theGoldvarb2001software to analyse the elements, and obtain the function value ofinfluencing elements, so the results will be more scientific.The Chapter one is introduction.We introduce the relationship of thesociolinguistics and language variation in industrial zone.And we analyse the currentsituation and development tendency of the language variation in industrial zone. Thenwe illustrate the research content, the significance and the concrete research methods.We introduce the general situation of the zhongyuan oilfield speech community inthe Chapter two.Then we introduce the survey plan of language variation, which isestablishing the variables, compiling questionnaires, starting to investigate through thequestionnaire survey and interview recording.We analyse pronunciation variables and vocabulary variables in the Chapter threeand four. Firstly, we introduce that the data processing methods is variable rulesanalysis.Then we analyse variation of pronunciation variable and vocabularyvariable.Finally,we summarize the variation characteristics of pronunciation variableand vocabulary variable, and give the reasons for such variations.In the end, we summarize the research results of pronunciation and vocabulary inZhongyuan Oilfield, and give some deficiencies.
