At present, the materials about the unearthed and handed down seal script ofHan Dynasty are very rich, in which retain a large number of seal script. ForStudying on the evolution of Chinese characters, they are valuable resources. Theseal script can be written in many forms, in this article, the scope of the studyinclude inscription, bronze (In addition to the bronze mirror, coin and copper seal),eaves tile, brick and pottery. The collection of the above materials is exhaustive.Then to collate and analysis system based on the materials and the interception of theseal Script. Next to investigate the survey, chirography and characteristic of the sealscript of Han Dynasty, as well as the relationship with the small seal script ofShuoWenJieZi. Last to make the resulting material written as Collection of the sealscript of Han Dynasty and Retrieval table of the seal script of Han Dynasty.This paper has fiver chapters:The first chapter is introduction. It mainly introduces the research history andpresent situation, material sources, research methods, and research significance ofthe seal script of Han Dynasty.The second chapter is a brief introduction of the seal script of Han Dynasty.First of all, we try to sort out the development venation of the Han Dynasty sealscript, then to introduce the main form of Han Dynasty seal script and differentcharacteristics. The development process of the seal script is a complex process oftwists and turns. The twists and turns of expression appeared process lingering in theforward process, which is mainly reflected in the Wang Mang period; Thecomplexity is shown in the coexistence of multiple forms, scripts, which does nothave the unification of progress. The main forms of Han Dynasty seal script areinscription, bronze eaves tile, brick pottery and so on,which showing different characteristics because of the different of the form, tool, and style of writing.The third chapter is the chirography of the seal script of Han Dynasty. we try tosort out the "Qin eight body" and "Xin Mang six body" which is mentioned in theShuowen Jiezi.by Xu Shen exists in the seal script of Han Dynasty. According to thecollected material can determine the actual existence of petit s igillaire, carvedsymbol, miu zhuan,niao chong zhuan,and Chinese script before the Qin DynastyWhat’s more, to sum up the chirography which is not mentioned in ShuoWenJieZi byXu Shen or formed after ShuoWenJieZi.The fourth chapter is the comparison of the seal script in Han Dynasty and petitsigillaires in ShuoWenJieZi. By comparison, we received a total of Han Dynasty sealscript941,which can916in ShuoWenJieZi, the same or substantially the same asShuoWenJieZi765.Then Though analysising the different parts. we find that one partfrom the script of the Warring States period, one part is the people create in HanDynasty, and another part is in line with the overall development of the Chinesecharacter which can proof the error by Xu Shen or by copying process.The fifth chapter is Collection of the seal script of Han Dynasty and Retrievaltable of the seal script of Han Dynasty. The Collection of the seal script of HanDynasty accord to the order of ShuoWenJieZi,and Is divided into fourteen volumes.Appendix Ⅰis the part which can’t find in ShuoWenJieZi. Appendix Ⅱis the partthat has doubts. Retrieval table of the seal script of Han Dynasty has fivevolumes,they are inscription, bronze, eaves tile, brick and pottery.
