A Preliminary Study Of Aesthetics And Formal Characteristics Of Seal Script From Epitaph In The Flourishing And Mid-tang Dynasty

At the peak of Tang Dynasty,the seal characters were popular and varied in style,mainly manifested in double-hook and single-hook yin engraving.There are many kinds of characters,such as the mixture of calligraphy body,structural modification,the interaction of single and multiple knives,and so on.Among them,the single hook yin engraving type Xieye seal character is the most unique.Although the money of the New Mang Dynasty,the so-called hanging needle seal script appeared at the beginning of its characters,since then,the coins of Liu and Song dynasties in the Southern Dynasty also have the so-called Xieye seal script on it.However,At the peak of Tang Dynasty,the seal characters in these two periods are different from the similar seal characters in the period of prosperous,and the latter is different in that they are produced and widely used in accordance with the actual needs of social life.Their existence provides the condition for the typicalization analysis of seal characters in this period.The analysis and research on the seal script of Mid-Tang Dynasty not only enriched the stage appearance and characteristics of seal script,especially seal character,but also for the innovation and calligraphy creation of seal character.It provides a reference.
