The Harmonicity Of Folk Thought Of Zhou Zuoren

Zhou Zuoren in the cultural history of contemporary Chinese literature is acomplex and controversial person, at the same time, the history goes ups anddowns which causes the value of evening leaves us some equally complex faultand the imagination. The researchers more constantly try to use multidimensionalperspective to go into him in the process of the history, and from objective andsubjective, history and personal context and some different angles they try to closeto him, study him, appreciate or critisize him. Zhou Zuoren’s philosophy of life,literature thought and literature creation, culture idea, and his research in literature,translation, folklore, and many other areas of academic research, including histranscription are all become researchers’ point of view to interpret, think and judgehim.Based on Zhou Zuoren’s folk thoughts as the breakthrough point, through theinterpretation of Zhou Zuoren works and relevant materials, I made analysis ofZhou Zuoren’s academic origin of folk thoughts and the harmonicity, discussed hisfolk thoughts as the methodology in his culture and literary criticism, pointed outthat the harmonic nature of his folk thoughts——scientific enlightenment andhuman beings feelings——gave him a new angle of folk culture, which had madehim reflect the voice of new literature and the limitation of enlightenment of science. This article altogether is divided into three parts: introduction, chapter one andchapter two.In the introduction, I combed the study of Zhou Zuoren in the perspective offolklore in educational world, at the same time, it expounds the research motive ofthis paper and train of thought.In chapter one, in this two aspects, western cultural anthropology andJapanese rural folk scholars YANAGITA KUNIO’s research, I discussed pluralisticknowledge structure of folklore thought of Zhou Zuoren and the harmonicity.In chapter two, I discussed harmonicity of his folk thoughts bring himfar-reaching influence,which to some degree made him show alienation in the maincurrent era of the May Fourth new culture. This chapter discussed the folk thoughtsof ZhouZuoren from the research on folk songs and folk beliefs. In folk songsresearch, he insisted on folklore criteria and avoid to literary aesthetic standard ofvalue. In folk beliefs, he reflected the limitations of the enlightenment. Therefore, Idemonstrate the Insistence on individual academic position of Zhou Zuoren and hefound science neglected human emotion, which made him show scientific rationalspirit and individual consciousness.
