Myth, as the first human memories and fairy tales of human savagery, containbeautiful fantasies and longings of the ancestors left behind a precious ancient culturalheritage. The goddess, with its ancient history as a myth, as the special charm of thegroups of women in the history of changes, has been shining immortal glory. Under theinfluence of their different ethnic background and social and historical factors, theChinese and Japanese mythology, especially the goddess images show a similar pointand have more obvious differences at the same time. There is no doubt that theSino-Japanese goddess who was given a variety of meaning and symbols of the spirit, bythe worship of the world have far-reaching impact on the progress and development ofhuman society. By analyzing and comparing the goddess images of Chinese and Japanesenational mythology, this paper explores the national characteristics and culturalconnotations hidden behind these commonalities and differences.This paper consists of three parts--prologue, body and conclusion. The body isdivided into three chapters. The prologue presents review and summary of presentresearch situations of the Chinese goddess, the Japanese goddess and the comparisonbetween the two aspects, puts forward the innovative features and explains the studymethods and significance of this paper.The first chapter of the body introduces the images of the goddess in Chinese andJapanese mythology. The second chapter of the body discusses the commonalities ofgoddess images in Chinese and Japanese mythology, which mainly focused on twoaspects, one is similar merits and virtue, the other is similar influence for the next lives.The third chapter of the body, as the main part of this paper, discusses the differences ofgoddess images in Chinese and Japanese mythology, which mainly focused on threeaspects, the first is origin of dissimilar nature and action, the second is different outcomefor the evolution of the image, the last is reason for anisotropy of the belief.In the end, the conclusion part emphasis on the underlying causes of the differencesof Sino-Japanese goddess.
