Multicultural coexistence is a peculiarity of American society. In the different historicalperiod, because of race, culture, the diversity of cracks,sometimes social conflict reallyoccur. But, ethnic cultural identity will lead to conflict between the mainstream culture andnational identity photograph?At present, the domestic academic through point of literature,music, the perspective of the drama analysis black cultural identity and confused. This articlethrough the analysis of the evolution of black American history, trying to explore theconstruction of ethnic minority historical memory,the ethnic identity and the influence ofnational identity.The paper is divided into three parts. The first part of this paper introduces the20thcentury mainstream American history in the narrative and the black image and its influence,to the description of the black that its basically are negative information, such as "barbaric"and "savages". To this, a part of the educationed black proposed his own opposition andargument. The second part are analysis of the20th century of black American culturalawakening and therise of black history. The1920s after the harlem Renaissance, Americanblack historian, such as Carter Sher Wood, John Hope Franklin, increase gradually rise. Theyset up institution of blcak, published research of black history periodicals and magazines,make a certain effect to American society culture.The third part is introduced in the1960safter the American civil rights movement, black American history and history textbookchanges. At this time, black historians on one hand continue to focus on the mainstreamAmerican history on the black contempt, discrimination and neglect, and emphasizes thenational black history should be an integral part of history; On the other hand takes the historyof the United States education, and discusses that how to write textbook, how to make whiteand black kids will be able to accept the real history.The innovation of this paper points that from the development of the history of blackdiscusses the group identity and national identity; In the United States for the development ofChinese historiography narrative black at the same time, through the analysis of the historicaltextbooks in image of blacks and the history of change in the black history to social influence. This paper suggests that as America’s largest minority ethnic groups, black because oftheir special historical experience, and in white mainstream culture with the interactionbetween groups, have come to realize the importance of national culture. The rise of blackhistory, development and evolution, will witness the black American efforts to construct theircultural identity. In some sense, it promote the development of diversified culture, constitutethe United States indispensable part of culture.
