Previous literature about typological study on standard negation has made greatachievements, which mainly focused on the field of word order research. The mainpurpose of this study is to investigate languages both domestic and foreign to classifythe relation of negative marks and grammatical categories on verb in standardnegation and to clarify the ways of negation affecting the grammatical categories onverb. This study investigates seventeen foreign languages and twenty domesticlanguages. According to the ways of negation affecting the grammatical categories onverb, this study concludes nine categories. From the aspect of negative marks, thereare Movement, Disappearance, Separation, and Combination. From the aspect of themarks of grammatical categories, there are No Change, Movement, Disappearance,Separation, and Combination Separation of Grammatical Categories. Primarystatistics show that agreement has closer relationship with categories of Movementand Disappearance of the negative marks, while affirmativity and realis/irrealis aremore correspondent with categories of Separation.
