E.M.Forster is a well-known British novelist, essayist and playwright. He is a writer that transformed from the realistic literature to modern literature, and the development of British fiction’s history has been promoted through his literary reform. A good plot organization and a well theme in his novel, especially the main theme of his novel is to expose to the British social class relations in the early20th century. A Passage to India is his well-known masterpiece. In this novel, Forster just uses new writing methods and flexible techniques to show the profound implications of the theme. He presents his view of liberal humanism. The theme of this novel is the difficulty of establishing relations between the British Colonist and the native Indians, the confrontation of oriental cultural and western culture, and by means of the application of the feminist narrative, this novel shows a more far-reaching theme.The thesis analyses A Passage to India in the feminist narrative means. The introductory section is a brief introduction to A Passage to India and the developing course of the feminist narrative theory. Chapter One is about the narrative strategy. In this part, the writer introduces the strategies which were used in the whole story. Chapter Two is focusing on the feminist tendency through the description of major characters. Characters are the soul of the novel. And the characters’account is very important in this paper, so their characteristic is used to show their attitudes toward people around them. It is known that the main characters are Adela Quested, Mrs. Moore, Cyril Fielding, Dr. Aziz, so their ideas are very important in developing the novel and helping to show the author’s opinion. Then chapter Three is the part of Narrative Voice. Forster has his distinctive style. In this novel, he changes the voices. Firstly, the analysis of the authorial voice is expressed here. As a writer, he wants to show his own opinion by choosing his spokesman. As a writer, Forster is trying to achieve his own unique style with what and how he writes. Usually writers try to find their own unique narrative voice in the story, but first they must choose which POV (point of view) to use. Secondly, in this novel, different characters narrate the event from their point of view. Readers can have a more comprehensive and better understanding of the event. Meanwhile, they are able to understand the thoughts, feelings and observations of the different characters. In the conclusion part, the author draws the conclusion that Forster achieves feminist naratology through the analysis of the difficulty of establishing relations between the British Colonist and the native Indians, the confrontation of oriental cultural and western culture.
