It inherits some classic features of the traditional Gothic novels. It represents the unique charm in the characterization and the description of an atmosphere. It is a detailed analysis of Female Gothicism from the plot, the motif, the heroines and the atmosphere. It mainly analyzes and explains the multiple roles of the heroines in the female gothic novel of The Twilight Saga. It focuses on the heroine’s leading-type, rescue-type and fear-type.In Chapter Two, it applies the female gothic enclosed space image and the happy ending to further analyze The Twilight Saga. Thereby, we have a more profound understanding from the new image of the heroine based on traditional Female Gothicism, and the enclosed image from the inner world and the true happy ending.Through the analysis of the female gothic features in The Twilight Saga, we have a more profound understanding about Stephenie Meyer and her novel. By the act of writing, the writer expresses her female consciousness of valuing women’s distinct personalities. It prompts the significance of Female Gothicism as a literature genre. This is worth our concern and research.
