Packaging design is the embodiment of visual culture, it is through perceptual image to attract the audience’s attention, affect the audience’s emotions, and to various art forms to meet the audience’s material and spiritual needs. In the packaging design to emphasize the visual sense as the center, other feeling on the supporting role, forming packaging overall artistic image. Optical illusion visual phenomenon and as a kind of special form,it’s interest, peculiar,contradiction,characteristic to make art design into the wider world.In the packaging design of scientific and rational application of optical illusion,can helps regulate the audience’s taste, enhance brand recognition,enhance the audience curiosity, enhance the audience information visual memory and make the audience much angle, much way for continue to receive information.The topic helpful for people is to explore the people of understanding new ways and means, can prominent brand personality, enhance brand positioning,make the packaging in a cognitive process more funny, increased product and consumer interaction, improve the added value of products and improve customer satisfaction, improve the packaging design theory, guide the packaging design practice. This paper through analysis, induction, summary, and then analysis method describes the formation mechanism and types of optical illusion, discusses the color in packaging design, graphics, text, structure, layout and various elements of the optical illusion principle, according to the packaging design the actual case to make analysis and discussion, reveals the optical illusion principle applied in packaging design value and design method. At the same time, the paper discusses the optical illusion in the packaging design and visual effects and influence,and through eye-tracking experiments and optical illusion packaging design practice confirm Vision-Illusion principle can be applied to the packaging design in science.
