Lujiahe Village is part of the Wudang Mountain South Shinto scenic. It’s in Guanshan Town, and located in the southern foothill of Wudang Mountain which is the world’s cultural heritage and the Wudang Taoist Holy Land in China. The village was nominated The Folk Song Village of Hubei Province by Hubei Folk Literature and Art Association, and soon after nominated The First Village of Han Chinese Folk Songs by the Association for Democracy and People’s Livelihood (ADPL) of China, Hubei Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Hubei Province ADPL. Local folk song developed its own style and local features under the influence of local Taoist culture, Bachu Culture in the south and Qinchu Culture in the north. Since Lujiahe Folk Song was discovered in1999by Mr. Li Zhengkang, vice president of the Deputy Secretary-General of the Hubei Province Folk Literature and Art Association and the Wudang Mountain Culture Research Association, experts from Canada, Germany, Peru, Japan, South Korea and other countries have come to study it, published numerous papers, and spoke highly of the value of Lujiahe Folk Song. Provincial and municipal leaders have constantly supervised the collection, assembly and protection of Lujiahe Folk Song. Lujiahe Folk Song was cataloged into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture of the State Council in2008.Up to now, over5000Lujiahe folk songs subjected in more than70styles have been collected by experts,120villagers were found to be able to sing more than one hundred different folk songs each person,4of them could sing more than1000folk songs. Based on these valuable resources, experts are able to do more studies on Lujiahe folk songs in many different angles.This paper summarizes the research based on further study on Lujiahe Folk Song. And it is divided into six chapters, each chapter is as follows:Chapter I is the introduction. The main topics for papers are elucidated, the research background, research status and research content are generally introduced.Chapter II is an overview of Lujiahe Folk Song. Songs are cataloged by Case analysis of their content.Chapter III discusses the local features of Lujiahe Folk Song by interviewing folk song singers and comparing different cases. We concludes that Yin Song maintained strong unique characteristics.Chapter IV discusses the diversity of Lujiahe Folk Song. We compared the musical color of local folk songs and folk songs from other territories and find out that the local folk songs contained abundant musical colors, many of which are borrowed from other folk songs. It can be said that Lujiahe Folk Song is a perfect combination of folk songs with wide regional distributions.Chapter V explores how the local features and diversity of Lujiahe Folk Song developed. Local features fromed by two reasons:1. Close connections between Lujiahe Folk Song and The Book of Songs.2. The influence of Local customs and religious psychology on Yin Song. Diversity comes from the migration history of the village.Chapter VI is summary and outlook of the content of this article.
