Kertesz is one of a few survivors today, who was from Auschwitz. He uses an entire life energy to write massacre, which gives persons so much fear and psychological scar. He uses the most individual character’s literary creation to reveal the fall and the degradation of human race. Through the literature creation, the fragile individual resists to savage tyranny in the historical Process. Kertesz has experienced losing life, the shadow, which comes from Auschwitz, make him use worried eyes to look the world up and down. He uses worried soul to quest the reason, which is about the fear. So far, the fear is always arounding us, which has never left us.The fear, which is a kind of feeling, is going along with the existence of human. It forces us to have gingerlinessed life. At the same time, it encourages us to open up a comfortable environment, although the hope is uncertained. However, the modernist, who live in the multicoloured society, are easy to numb、confuse、sink. Kertesz’s works seems marginalized. As a matter of fact, they have profound significance. He is alarming for us stubbornly, tirelessly. He is warning us that fear is still everlasting.This thesis is divided into seven parts:the fist chapter analyzes the research status of Kertesz at home and abroad, and explains the significance and the purpose of choosing the topic. The second chapter talks about the forms of The fear-----The fear of a person about nature、other persons、oneself. The third chapter analyzes the Jews’fear, which is borned. And Kertesz has to undertake the Jews identity. The fourth chapter surveys the fear, which is about totalitarianism. In his eyes, the totalitarianism includes Auschwitz and Matyas Rakosi totalitarianism. The fifth chapter analysises Kertesz’s contradictory psychology. He feels that he must testify, although he understands his power is very insignificant. The sixth chapter explains the alarming significance of Kertesz’s works. The last chapter talks about my Exploration experience for the past three years, which is about Kertesz.
