The Exploration Of Chinese And Western Contemporary Small Theater’s Drama

The little-theater drama movement originated from Europe in thelate19th century and early20th century, a product of the anti-commercialization of the Western drama and also the fruit of activeexperimentation and exploration. In1982, the director Lin Zhaohua firstput the little-theater drama "absolute signal" on the Capital’s theater stage,which marks the beginning of the movement of Chinese little-theaterdrama. Subsequently, the little-theater drama quietly infiltrated into allcountry and eventually the small theater drama became a trend, winingthe love of young people.This thesis focuses on little theater drama, exploring thedevelopment of little-theater drama in the theater arts and aims atproving the progress of the little theater art with domestic and foreigntheater drama works. This paper will study little-theater drama art from the aspects of the change in dramatic concept, decline in the status of thescript and the exploring for the technique of expression for stage craft.The main body of this paper is divided into four parts: the first partmainly shows the meaning, the source of the little-theater drama as wellas organizes the relationship between the little-theater drama andexperimental theater.The second part analyzes the change in the concept of little-theaterdrama establishing the audience–based idea and actively inviting theaudience to participate in theater performances.The third part talks about the decline of the status of scriptdiscussing the reasons, manifestation and impacts of that.The fourth part mainly analyzes the exploration of the stageperformance techniques of the little-theater drama and shows thedevelopment of the stage performance techniques of the small theaterdrama through multi-voice, parody, behavior art, and narration.
