The Los Angeles Theater Center(LATC)located on the South Spring Street in the city of Los Angeles,California is a non-profit theater operated by Latino Theater Company. In January 2006,the Latino Theater Company was awarded a 20-year lease for LATC from the City of Los Angeles and received a $4 million grant from the California Cultural and Historic Endowment to refurbish the building. In the past decade,LATC has not only succeeded in practicing the nonprofit theater system, but also created a large number of influential art works featuring the diverse culture of Los Angeles.Through the case study and analysis of the Los Angeles Theater Center and Latino Theater Company, this paper is attempting to examine the operational and economical social infrastructure associated with LATC and aim to help with the potential implementing of the non-profit theater model to modern and future Chinese theater.
