Mr. Tan Xinpei, the old gentleman of Peking opera,celebrated his sixtieth birthday in1905, in which RenJingfeng, the owner of Beijing Feng Tai photo studio, filmeda segment of opera that is Ding Jun Mountain. This eventmarked the Chinese film was born and generated. Sincethen there was a close connection between Chinese filmand classical Chinese opera. This thesis concentrates onthe study of the elements of Chinese opera in the films andgoes on to discuss in detail, and makes use of the outcomein various fields, such as communication, art aesthetics,filmology, traditional Chinese opera and so forth, and basedon reading the literature review, besides, the authorwatches these image data and draws the conclusion theChinese operas have important influence on the history ofthe Chinese film.Since the Chinese film was born, it has related to theChinese opera closely. The development of the Chinese filmresults from both absorbing in the western advanced experience and learning and referring the traditionalculture. Therefore, the thesis explains the demonstrationand application of the Chinese opera elements in theChinese films and proves that Chinese film and Chineseopera improve and develop each other by dating back to thestudy of filmology history and analyzing the film case.The thesis thinks Chinese opera element is the newdirection for the future development of Chinese filmsnationalization, meanwhile, Chinese opera and film developtogether and improve each other. At first, recent domesticfilm market was affected by the foreign blockbuster’sinvading, while these Chinese opera stories provideplentiful materials for the film market, such as Blue Snake,Dragon and Phoenix Shop, Sacrifice and so on, Chineseopera is the unique character of Chinese films. Besides,opera has been regarded as the traditional way ofentertainment, but now it gets far from the tradition. Wecannot deny the Chinese opera’s contribution to Chinesefilm although there are many Hollywood movies. Thus, thestudy of applying the opera elements into movies not onlybrings the effect of “nationalization”, but also supplies anew spreading way for the Chinese opera. At last, from thestudy of contents of the present thesis, the use and demonstration of the Chinese opera offers enoughmaterials origin and rich and vivid figures for the maincharacter, film and background of the story. Therefore, it isa new trend to apply the Chinese opera elements to futuredevelopment of the Chinese films. Perhaps it is a little, itcan help some types of the opera leave their entire images.What the traditional Chinese opera influences theChinese film is not doubtful and exclusive. Everymagnificent transforming of the Chinese film has closeassociation with traditional Chinese opera. It is not thesimple joint of tradition Chinese opera and film, but to findthe respective advantages of the skillful way of expressionand narration from the Chinese opera and Chinese film.Through that way, the old Chinese opera can be well utilizedin the film, and be more energetic and novel, and help theChinese film more charming and attracting on the way offilm’s nationalization. Based on reading the books andmaterials watching the videos, the thesis goes on toresearch and study the Chinese Chinese opera elements.
