Recent years, the protection of intangible cultural heritage has been under wideconcern all over the world, which has reached its climax. The protection andinheritance of intangible marine cultural heritage is one of the important part of theintangible cultural heritage protection.China is a land-sea power with lengthy coastline,vast offshore and open seaarea,long marine culture histoy and diversified cultural ecology in different sea waters,which creates its own wonderful and thick intangible marine cultural heritage.Therefore, we have the responsibility and obligation to protect this precious culturalwealth. However, the conservation status of the intangible marine cultural heritage isnot optimistic in our country. This article is in the case of Shengsi Islands-located atthe eastern part of China and by researching and analyzing the islands’ intangiblemarine cultural heritage situation and existing problems to explore the model andspecific measures of inheritance and protection, which hopes to appeal thegovernment and related organizations’ attention to draft measures as soon as possibleto repair and build healthy cultural ecology for the survival of intangible marinecultural heritage and avoid the destruction. Thus, the effective protection andinheritance of intangible marine cultural heritage and maintaining cultural diversitycan make sense.This paper is divided into five chapters: The first chapter is the introduction ofsome related concepts and the research background. The second chapter elaborates theconcept and feature of intangible cultural heritage.The third chapter is the introductionof the concept and feature of intangible marine cultural heritage. The fourth chaptersystematically expounds the intangible marine cultural heritage and introduces theprotection situation in Shengsi Islands. The fifth chapter expounds thecountermeasure of the protection and inheritance of intangible marine culturalheritage.During the ocean century, we believe that we should both develop oceaniceconomy and protect and inherit intangible marine cultural heritage scientifically in the terms of the principle of "protection first, and development promotes protection".And we should make great efforts to achieve the harmonious development ofresources conservation and utilization.
