The comparative sentence is one of the most important sentences inteaching Chinese as the second language. According to my research,there are many works and articles of comparative sentence in recent yearsby the linguists from china and other foreign lands. They all holddifferent opinions about comparative sentence. But they still failed tosatisfy the needs for teaching comparative sentence in the lands ofteaching Chinese as the second language. As the Chinese learners arefrom different countries and lands of the world, they all have differentculture、custom、background and thought, etc…. thus, the problem oflearning comparative sentence directly encouraged by those differencescomes into being. Since the articles and works I have studied are all aboutthe language errors of Asians, southeast Asians, the English backgroundlearners are chosen as the my research object. Thus,in order to make thelearners understand and use correctly and efficiently, and to decrease therate of making errors in teaching Chinese as the second language, basedon the errors I collected from the homework, examination, andquestionnaire that learners have made during my teaching career ofcomparative sentence, I try to analyze the comparative sentence in theperspective of the semantics、pragmatics、word order by comparing thedifference between English expression and Chinese expression, I havefound out the difference of the Chinese and English patterns and thecauses of the errors. At last several advices relevant with teaching methodare given.
