Gannan is a place with divinity which has multi-culture, miraculous and beautiful natural scenery. Poetry is the most glorious flower in the many colorful literature and arts forms born in Gannan. It is the convergence of the Nomadic culture, Tibetan Buddhism culture, Islamic culture, Longyou culture, Jiangnan culture, farming culture, the Red culture, and the folk song culture that becomes the endless creating source Gannan poetry.Political lyric poetry and narrative poetry were the main forms of the Chinese poetry writing in Gannan Tibetan area of1949-1978. And it, together with the Chinese novels, and essays, marked Gannan new literature’s emergence. Danzhen gongbu, Wang Junying and Gongbu zhaxi’s efforts made Gannan literature go onto a new stage immediately. With the further development of the reform and opening policy, Gannan literature ushered in a new developing environment. Many writing taboos being opened, new arts techniques being input, writing zeal being lit once again, Gannan poetry entered a phase of unprecedented prosperity. Ah Xin, Sang Zi, Wanma Yangjin, Duman.Yeerjiang, Min Yanwen and Zhaxi Cairang were the outstanding ones of this period. In the new century, with the lasting active poets of the second generation in Gannan, poets after80s such as Wang Xiaozhong, Hua Sheng and Tang Yaqiong began to make a figure. Gannan poetry presented a prosperous scene. At the same time, the poetry phenomenon in Gansu Normal University for Nationalities (including the former Hezuo Minorities Teachers College) are very visible as well.the Nomadic culture, Tibetan Buddhism culture, Islamic culture, Longyou culture, Jiangnan culture, farming culture, the Red culture, and the folk song culture have deeply influenced Gannan poetry on the form and content especially its spiritual temperament in the three periods. Under the convergence of the Nomadic culture and the farming culture, Gannan poetry loves to use country images and grassland images spectrum. Jiangnan illusions can be seen everywhere in poems of Lintan poets like Mu Feng etc. The multi-religious culture influences Gannan poetry in the following aspects:emotion’s variety, sensibility, rich imagination, beauty of artistic conception, divinity etc.Under the cultivation of the multi-culture, Gannan modern Chinese poetry develops such characteristics as pure-poem attitude, natural spirit, inclusive spirit, and the powerful, free and easy style. Poems of Ah Xin(Han nationality), Wanma Yangjin,(Tibetan nationality), and Min Yanwen(Hui nationality), are the most representative achievements of the three poets’receiving, consciously or not, the influence of the Gannan culture echotope under the muti-cultural convergence.
