A Study On The Stories Of People With Dexterity In Enshi

In the treasury of resources of every kind of folk tales, there is a special type, orcalled clusters of stories, which have a common feature that each story is composed ofa cluster of other stories of which the heroes are always smart, humorous and upright.The story may be focused on the heroes’ amusing stories or anecdotes, jokes and etc,and its scale ranges from dozens of stories to hundreds of stories. In the story, the herois wiser than anyone else, and can resolve any difficulties while anyone else cannot,hence the story with such hero is called “stories of people with dexterity”, and enjoysgreat popularity in each district of Enshi. This thesis focus on the research of “XieDing Ben”, i.e. transcript of the stories passed by generation to generation throughoral language, which is collected from the eight administrative regions in Enshi Tujiaand Miao Autonomous Prefecture.The first part of the body focuses on the analysis of characters in “stories ofpeople with dexterity”, which oriented from their social position, behavior and moralcharacteristics, and through which to explore its aesthetic value and cultureconnotation.Then, the paper discusses the language features of the heroes in the stories.At the end, this paper probes into the value of this special kind of stories, this isdone from the perspectives of culture value and education value.
