Dai Hou-ying was a famous authoress in the history of Chinese contemporary literature. She experienced personally the Cultural Revolution as a "Sentry of Literature and Art". After the Cultural Revolution she wrote numerous works about the memory of the Cultural Revolution which filled with rational thinking about passing history and deep experience of realistic life, infiltrated with self-examination and self-judgment. In writing process she paid attention to the unique subjective mind of herself, cultivated unique memories that belonged to herself only, and gave us a long term emotional shock. She had the courage to face up to those histories, to refuse forgetting the past existing which was reproduced by writing her personal experience and dignified memories. All of these, in conclusion, enriched the gallery of contemporary literature.The full text is divided into three parts-introduction, text (contains three chapters) and epilogue.The introduction is divided into two levels to develop. The first level briefly carding the research status of Dai’s work and then make a point of the whole article. The second level briefly discusses the research thoughts of the full text.Chapter One starts with Dai’s special identity as "Sentry of Literature and Art" to reveal her complex mentality. From fanatical pursue to vanish of dream and finally to awareness, these complex mentalities directly influenced Dai’s work. She emphasized revealing memories of herself and voices from the common people and therefore to show the Culture Revolution.in a microcosmic view.Chapter Two mainly discusses Dai’s judgmental sense of the Culture Revolution. The ten years turmoil directly forced a re-scanning of those histories which destroyed individual spiritual space and rebuilt and strengthened it after. After recall a painful experience Dai Houying created literatures to try both those histories and herself deeply, and then to rebuild individual spirit. Chapter Three mainly expound Dai’s loneliness, confusion and loss of faith resulted in her failure to keep personalistic independence. In these desire she overcome the shadow of past by self-criticism and conversion to Buddhism which cured her and made her independent once again.The epilogue evaluates the whole states of text and points out that these states’views provide another new possibility for analyzing Dai Houying’s literary creation.
