| Time and space, which are the two important dimensions for the human beings to acknowledge the world, are indispensable and complementary each other. However, compared with time, space has been oppressive and viewed as a silent, holly, rigid and dead container. Since1980’s, with the rapid development of interdisciplinary research among geography, sociology, history, anthropology and cultural studies, the research in space has been aroused more and more attention from the scholars and became a significant research. The research in space, as an important ideological trend of social criticism, concerned about the natural attributes of space in the early stage and transformed into its social attributes and the spiritual world in recent days. The process of globalization is accelerating in the era. With further aggravation of space restructuring between human being’s production and living, sense of space and spatial experience highlights. Space is viewed as a symbol, which condenses and focuses the most major social problems of recent days. Most of scholars of space theory think that social space is produced by the human beings’activities."The Production of Space" writen by Henry Lefebvre, can be viewed as the formation of space steering. He thinks space is a productive exists. His research contains physical space and spiritual space and social space, furthermore, sets up a new research ear that is society—history—space. At the same time, Michel·Foucault analyzed space by the relationship between knowledge and rights and created the new word "Heterotopias", which word summarizes his thoughts well. And then, these scholars and their theories enriches the space theory and constructs the space theory’s diversity and validity, including Fredric-Jameson’s Hyperspace, David Harvey’s Time-space compression, Edward W. Soja’s Third space, Homi K. Bhabha’s Hybrid space, Manuel Castells and Lashs’Media space and so on. It is noticeable that in the early20th century Gaston-Barchelard and Maurice-Blanchot, the two philosopher of France, analyze the space theory by the internal spiritual."The poetics of space" of Gaston·Barchelard discusses a series of happy images from the view of phenomenology and symbolic metaphor."The literary space" of Maurice-Blanchot discusses the space of literary production. These theories make the literary space show the diversity, the heterogeneity and the intersexuality.About the theory and criticism of spatial poetics, theories of Utopia, Dystopia, Heterotopia, E-topia have their own unique significance in different of texts. Moreover, at recently, with the growing flows of migrating population in all over the world, the questions aroused the immigrant writers are confused with their bicultural identity. And it is proved that the theory of Homi K. Bhabha’s Hybrid space is rich and profound. In the past few years, magic realism works have constructed some distinctive geographical, such as the small town of Macudu in the novel "One Hundred Years Of Solitude", William Faulkner and his Yoknapatawpha County, Mo Yan and his Gaomidongbei village and other living culture, are all a opening and mysterious third space. In addition, when we focus on Chinese ancient theory artistic conception, it may be another new interpretation dimension in the spatial poetics. In the process of recent globalization, the turning of the space theory not only provides a new dimension for researching social changes in the cities but also offers a new view for text criticism, which has been became a new indispensible point for the human beings to focus, criticize, expound and consider its activities. Both spatial poetics and its criticism have their own constructive and criticism of tension. |
