Since the born of the film, the film has been labeled as a commodity. From a business perspective, the film, as a commodity, should win the maximum profit by a variety of ways to attract audience. Since1895, with the born of World Cinema, movie posters have been a very important way to promote movies. Movie poster is a product which concentrates movie’s theme and topic to promote it to audiences exactly and timely as well as to attract more audience pouring to the cinema to see this film.The Prosperous of film market need us to pay more attention on the promotion. From the New Century to now, Chinese film industry developed rapidly and the communication environment has changed a lot. With the fast spreading information in this modem environment, audiences’choose might be influenced by all different promotions. In addition, with the prosperous of film industry and fierce content for box office, the producer has to make more efforts on promotion to attract more audience. How to exploit the advantages of Movie poster, as a traditional and historical promotional way, to keep its service in movie promotion has become my topic in this essay.In this essay, I am going to discuss the series of tactics in movie promotions, how the Chinese movie posters to connect to the movie, how it match up with other promotions and how it perform the creativity and how it shows the audience-oriented. In addition, the exploration of problems in movie poster promotion will be discussed and hope could give conductive suggestion to Chinese movie poster promotion.
