Ye Shi is a famous scholar and writer, important figures in the Yongjia School of Southern Song dynasty. His academic thought strike out a new line for oneself, and is very distinctive. In literature, he also had his own knack in prose creation, was called "the one of the great writers in Nandu period". However, most previous have focused on Ye’s thought, historiography, and even the economic and political aspects, but rarely involved his literary creation. Because of the present and historical background of this research, this paper will focus on Ye’s poetry creation, in order to make a comprehensive summary of his poetry creation characteristics. Starting from the poetry creation characteristic of Yeshi, focuses on the relationship between literature and academic thoughts. The first chapter discriminate Yeshi’s academic thinking. The second chapter discusses the characteristics of YeShi’s poetry and how his academic thinking affect it. The third chapter discusses Yeshi’s prose, divided into three areas. By exploring difference between Yeshi’s prose and another writers’, reveal his prose characteristics and relationships with academic thinking. The fourth chapter describes the decline of Yongjia school and the reasons.
