Study Of Ren Weiyin’s Art Of Painting

In the modern history of Chinese art，there were some outstanding painters who were forgottenby the writers of art history because they were pushed out of the main tide of contemporary art.However，when people calmed down atfer the disputing between Chinese and Western thoughts，we begin to know and value their great achievements, who were unknown to public at that time,were indeed amazing. Compared with works of the contemporaneous writers, their works mightnot display much sense of commitment to society and history of art, but they surely fulfilled theduty as artists. In the last century, there had been a Chinese artist who had gone through hardshipof being a cobbler for17years in Shanghai. He devoted all his life to painting. His name is RenWeiyin, who is a great painter forgotten by the world,Ren Weiyin has talent in (he painting，but his life is a tortuous tragedy. He makes this uniqueachievement in art because he gets self-transcendence under this tragedy. In Ren Weiyin’s artworks，he combines the techniques of Western modernist painting genre and the straightforwardnatural style of Chinese painting, controlling his work with emotions and focusing on theplentiful emotional expression. His work not only has the form of European painting, but alsoretains the essence of Chinese painting. He enriches the traditional painting skills and the spiritof art. To sum up his life of painting, he uses the mateirals, skills and ways of interpretation ofWestern modernism and to represent the essence of Chinese painting, namely “中学为体，西学为用”.This thesis can be divided into three parts to interpret Ren Weiyin’s Art: first of all, the artexperience of his painting is mainly about his domain of art and his professional development，and this chaoter is to investigate the path of Ren Weiyin’s art research. Secondly, Ren Weiyin’s“thin oil painting" study is based on the art works，analyzing unique enchantment of the "thin oilpainting" from different perspectives. The third chapter is the enlightenment to the Chinesepainting of Ren Weiyin’s artistic creation. It is to evaluate and appreciate the achievements ofRen Weiyin, the master of painting, and to acknowledge that Ren Weiyin inspires modernChinese painting and he is a pioneer of creation and innovation in ifne art.
