How to reduce the coherent noise in interfere systems, is an important issue in laser interferometer metrology. In recent years, Ring Of Fire(ROF) has been proved-to be an effective method. In this thesis, based on the optical properties of the cone-wave, how the ROF behaves in an interferometer, is researched. The optical characteristics of the cone-wave are discussed, including some basic characteristics of cone-wave and some special behaviors of cone-wave when it is used in real optical systems. The advantages of cone-wave are found out, especially the great advantages of cone-wave-illumination in optical systems. How a hologram records and reproduces a cone-wave to form ROF is analyzed. Expression of the radius and off-axis amount, are obtained, based on holographic optical theory. A model in Zemax is built to produce a tilted cone-wave, which is as same as the wave generated by hologram. The evidence’of choosing the right carrier frequency is analyzed in this way.The theory and the process of making a Computer-Generated Hologram (CGH) are researched. The sampling requirements are required, and gray scale distribution of the CGH is obtained, too. Then the CGH is binarized and the Fraunhofer diffraction image is obtained. The curve’s function of the contour is calculated based on the principles of slicer, and depicted in AutoCAD by using Autolisp language. Final the deviations of the generated wave and ROF is analyzed. In this thesis, the preparation for making a CGH has been done, with the CGH, people can apply a ROF to the interference systems to reduce the coherent noise. That has to be very meaningful.
