The chemistry of organic-inorganic coordination polymers and supramolecularcomplexes has recently become area of increasing interest. Self-assembly of organicligands and inorganic metal ions is one of the most efficient and widely usedapproaches for the construction of organic-inorganic composite materials. Recently, remarkable progress has been made in the area of molecular inorganic-organic hybridcompounds. The synthesis and characterization of infinite one-, two-, andthree-dimensional networks have been an area of rapid growth. In thesis, a series ofnovel double and multi-armed1,3,4-oxadiazole and pyridine group containingcyclotriphosphazene ligands, and the coordination chemistry of these ligands withtransition metal ions; the Schiff-base containing ligands have been designed andsynthesized. Totally12new coordination interaction and hydrogen-bonded drivingcompounds were prepared, and fully characterized by IR, MS, elemental analysis andsingle-crystal X-ray diffraction.1. The coordination chemistry based on double and multi-armed1,3,4-oxadiazolecontaining cyclotriphosphazene ligands with inorganic Ag(I) and Cu(II) salts hasbeen investigated. Ten new coordination compounds were synthesizedrespectively. Their singal crystal structures were characterised and investigated.2. The coordination chemistry based on double and multi-armed pyridine groupcontaining cyclotriphosphazene ligands with metal salts has been investigated. Two new coordination compounds were synthesized. Their singal crystalstructures were characterised and investigated.3. The Schiff-base containing ligands have been designed and synthesized. The results reported herein demonstrate that the use of1,3,4-oxadiazole andpyridine group containing cyclotriphosphazene ligands as precursors to bind metalions and controllable self-assembly reaction are in fact a new and efficient approachfor synthesis of novel supramolecular networks with interesting chemical and physicalproperties. It provides a promising and convenient approach to access to themultifunctional materials for selective sorption, recognition, catalysis, luminescence and magnets.
