Currently, the storage of energy gas such as hydrogen and separation of carbon dioxide andindustrial gases is challenge for today’s scientists, while the coordinatation gas storage materialsdue to combination of inorganic and organic aspects, have the porosity that other materials cannot be comparable to. So, it can solve this problem. Meanwhile, this compound has severaladvantages, including rigid, flexible, diversity, designable, and so on by changing the conditionsand selection of specific ligands, and flexible materials can be used for the selective adsorptioitnof the gas by adjusting the size of the pores. Due to carboxylic acid ligands with the features ofmore coordinate points, diversity of coordination mode, easy to form a unique pore structure, remarkable achievements have been made using a variety of carboxylic acid ligands. In thispaper two novel kinds of semiflexible carboxylate ligands H3cpip and H3cbip, then a series ofone dimentional, two dimentional, three dimentional, metal-chains and metal-clusterscoordination compounds with Zn, Cd, Mn, Co have been synthetised. Major work is as follows:(1) All coordination compounds of [Zn3(cpip)]nï¹'H2O (1),[Zn(cbip)(OH)]n(2) and[Co2.5(OH)2(Hcpip)]n(8) were synthesied with single ligand H3cpip or H3cbip and contained theshape of chain.1and8had the structure of metal-chain and there’s large voids in1. In theconstitution of2, O from carboxyl and metal formed screw metal-chain.(2) The metal Zn, Cd with mixed ligands of H3cpip and4,4’-bpy or bmib formed metal-clu-sters or low dimensional composition high dimensional coordination compounds[Zn4(OH)2(cpip)2(4,4′-bpy)]n(3),[Cd(Hcpip)(4,4’-bpy)]n(4),[Cd2(cpip)2(bmib)0.5]nï¹'H2O (5).3was a two-fold interpenetrating three dimensional framework consisting of tetranuclear Zn(II).The three dimensional framework was formed with two dimensional and one dimensionalstructure which were consisted of H3cpip and4,4’-bpy with Zn respectively. The construction of4was similar with3.5was a three dimensional framework consisting of tetranuclear Cd(II). Theligand bmib was absence to coordinated, and filled in the framework.5was a charged compoundon the basis of charge balance.(3) The coordination compound [Mn(Hcpip)(4,4’-bpy)ï¹'2H2O]n(6) contained hydrogenbond which was synthesised with mixed ligand H3cpip and4,4’-bpy. The carboxyl of Monodentate and4,4’-bpy formed one dimensional structure, but the hydrogen bond leaded the onedimensional to three dimensional which was produced from incomplete deprotonation.(4) The two dimensional grid structre of the coordination compound [Mn(OH)(Hcbip)(4,4’-bpy)]nï¹'H2O (7) was synthesised with mixed ligand H3cpip and4,4’-bpy. In this article we carried out the detection and characterization with these compounds.Particularly the fluorescence to the compounds1and3were studied.
