Activated carbon/polytetrafluoroethylene (AC/PTFE) electrode has goodconductivity and hydrophobicity, it is widely used as a gas diffusion cathode, andapplied to cathodic indirect oxidative degradation of organic pollutant. In order toimprove the efficiency of wipe off organic pollutants and reduce power consumptionby AC/PTFE electrode, in this paper exfoliated graphite (EG)/AC/PTFE,2-EthylAnthraquinone/AC/PTFE modified electrode were prepared, and they made aelectrolysis system wih Ti/RuO2anode, The effect and reaction mechanism of indirectoxidative degraded phenol were studied by the two system.The chemical oxidation composed microwave was used to prepared exfoliated graphite(expressed as EG50, EG200, EG500) by nature flake graphite(50、200、500mesh) as rawmaterial.According to the different proportionswith activated carbon to preparecomposite electrode, SEM, XRD were userd to apparent morphology and structureanalysis on electrode materials, the results show that,In the composite electrode materials, expanded graphite with activated carbon,PTFE mixed well; the resistance measurement results show,, expandable graphitecontent increased or the decrease of the particle size, can reduce AC/PTFE electroderesistance, on the AC/PTFE electrode conductivity enhancing favorable. The massratio of1:4EG500/AC/PTFE electrode was the best optimal electrode in diaphragmelectrolysis system, the electrode under the condition of aeration, the current density is39mA/cm2,0.1mol/L electrolyte concentration, initial phenol concentration is100mg/L, pH7, electrode spacing of4cm on phenol degradation effect is best,electrolysis of120min, phenol degradation rate of up to75.8%. EG/AC/PTFE ascathode, can improve the oxygen reduction cathode to generate generate H2O2speed,H2O2is o important oxidant sources phenol cathodic indirect oxidative degradation.2-Ethyl Anthraquinone/AC/PTFE composite electrode were prepared by impregnation, the characterization of SEM, XRD, FT-IR results show that,2-EthylAnthraquinone by adsorption on activated carbon particles were no effect ofdistribution and crystalline phase,but it increased of C=O, C-H and other functionalgroup content. The time of the activated carbon impregnated in2-Ethyl Anthraquinonesolution has effect on composite electrode conductivity, with the increase of immersiontime, composite electrode resistance decreases, reaching16h, resistance was stability.In diaphragm electrolysis system, electrolyze120min, the efficiency of phenol removalcould up to77.5%by2-Ethyl Anthraquinone/AC/PTFE, it is1.36times of theactivated carbon electrodes.
