The pollution of the environment is more and more serious for the past few years.The main pollutants of city’s air pollution is CO and NO which are the two largestconcentration of poisonous gas in automobile exhaust. Reduction NO by CO is a kind ofhigh gas purification method, through the reaction the automobile exhaust will betransferred into CO2and N2, both of them are avirulent and harmless. In the past fewyears, the non-precious metal catalysts has aroused widespread concern. So we studythe reduction of NO by CO catalytic performance based cerium oxide as additives, withlarger surface area γ-Al2O3as the carrier and copper as catalyst system of activecomponents.The catalys5wt%CuO/(40%)Ce0.9Zr0.1O2-Al2O3was respectively preparated byco-precipitation, deposition-precipitation and impregnation three preparation methods. Thedifferent synthesis methods influence the structure and the the performance of thecatalyst by XRD、BET、XPS and Raman. We found that the number of oxygenvacancies and Cu+play a crucial role in the NO+CO reaction.Through the activity test of x wt%CuO/(40%)Ce0.9Zr0.1O2-Al2O3series catalysts,We found that the CuO capacity is5wt%is a threshold and at the same time get the bestcatalytic activity in NO+CO. The reactions active species in NO+CO reaction is thehighly dispersion CuO and the CuO strong interaction with cerium confirmed throughthe BET, XRD, Raman, H2-TPR. For the5%CuO/xCe0.9Zr0.1O2-Al2O3series catalysts,the best quality of Ce0.9Zr0.1O2and Al2O3is4:6.
