Based on the laboratory study of a new purification method of zinc hydrometallurgy, through electrowinning test under conditions of laboratory and industrial, this research mainly studies the effect of new purification method for zinc electrowinning, perfects the new purification method,and discusses the industrial applicability of new purification method in zinc hydrometallurgy.There will be some organic compound remaining while using K reagent to removal the impurities such as cobalt and nickel,etc, and the residual organic compound will cause zinc electrowinning doesn’t function,so this research adopted the corresponding organic compound removal reagent to remove the residual organic compound in purified solution of new purification method,and after perfected the new purification method,9-day laboratory electrowinning expanding test and26-day industrial single-cell electrowinning test for with the purified solution of new purification method was conducted.In the laboratory electrowinning expanding test, the effective size of cathode plate is300X206mm, the total area of cathode plate is0.86m2.When the ceil temperature is at28~38℃,the ratio of zinc and acid is2.50~3.09,the current dentisy is355~435A/m2, the volume of the purified solution of new purification method dealed with is810L, the output of zinc is81.9kg,and the current efficiency is71.77%-92.58%,which has achieve a better result.Based on the better result of the laboratory electrowinning expanding test with purified solution of new purification method, the industrial electrowinning test was conducted. In the industrial single-cell electrowinning test, the effective size of cathode plate is920X630mm, the total area of cathode plate is62.1~69m2.When the cell temperature is at32~39℃,the ratio of zinc and acid is2.80~3.60,the current dentisy is381~398A/m2, the volume of the purified solution of new purification method dealed with is208m3, the output of zinc is18t,the current efficiency is86.89%~96.41%,the power consumption is2761~3130kW·h/tZn.For further discussing the effect of new purification method for zinc electrowinning, the industrial single-cell electrowinning test with the purified solution of production system obtained by antimony trioxide purification method was conducted, and the result of tests was compared.The datas of the industrial single-cell electrowinning test with the purified solution obtained from production system is as follows:the volume of the purified solution from production system consumed with is160m3, the output of zinc is14.5t,the current efficiency is84.22%~97.30%, the power consumption is2786~2963kW·h/t Zn. From all above,we can reach the conclusion that the data indexes of the industrial single-cell electrowinning test with the purified solution of new purification method can reach a better level,and comparing to the industrial single-cell electrowinning test with the purified solution of production system, the indexes is closed.The results show that, after taking the appropriate measures to remove the residual organic compound,and to perfect the new purification method of zinc hydrometallurgy, purified solution of new purification method can reach a advanced purification level, and can be used with normal electrowinning production,which lays the foundations for the industrial application of new purification method.
