Epoxy resin production wastewater is a kind of industrial wastewater that is difficult to dill with.The concentration of organic pollutants is high,and it has high salt and basicity.Epoxy resin production wastewater contains refractory organics and complicated component.It is ineffective to treat epoxy resin production wastewater by using conventional physicochemical and biological treatment methods.As one of advanced oxidation process,Fenton reagent oxidation process has a good treatment effect in treating difficult degradation organic wastewater.Because hydroxyl radical is generated in the process of the reaction,which has strong oxidizing and can oxidize most of organic matters.So it is effective to treat refractory organic wastewater by using Fenton reagent.Fenton reagent oxidation method can be used alone,and can also be combined with other methods.Fenton reagent oxidation method can improve biodegradability of the wastewater when it is used as a pretreatment process,resulting in the benefit to the follow-up biological treatment.The article takes the epoxy resin production wastewaer which comes from a industry in Huangshan city,Fenton oxidation process and UV/Fenton oxidation process are investigated into the treatment of epoxy resin production wastewater.We discuss some factors on the effect of organic matter removal efficiency of epoxy resin production wastewater,such as pH value,reaction time,the concentration of Fe2+,the dosage of H2O2,and so on.The optimal treatment conditions of Fenton reagent oxidation process are as follows: the initial pH is 3.0,the reaction time is 75 min,the concentration of FeSO4·7H2O is 21.6 mmol·L-1,and the dosage of H2O2 is 0.495mol·L-1.Under the best conditions,the COD removal rate of epoxy resin production wastewater is 59.9%,the wastewater biochemical index increases from 0.14 to 0.37,and the biodegradability is greatly improved.It is found that there is certain linear relationship between the pH value of effluent water and COD removal rate.The epoxy resin production is processed by UV/Fenton reagent oxidation process,and compare the result with the Fenton oxidation process result.The results show that the utilization efficiency of H2O2 can be improved when ultraviolet light is introduced into Fenton oxidation process system.Besides that,the wavelength of ultraviolet light and the ultraviolet irradiation intensity also have impact on the COD removal efficiency.The results of Fenton reagent oxidation and UV/Fenton reagent oxidation processwhich are used to treat epoxy resin production wastewater indicate that the wastewater can not meet the discharge standards when these treatment methods are used alone.But they improve the biological decomposition of epoxy resin production wastewater,and covert the wastewater from unfavorable biodegradable wastewater into the biodegradable wastewater.Fenton and UV/Fenton reagent oxidation method can be used as an effective pretreatment process whey they are used to treating epoxy resin production wastwater.
