Due to the shortage of oil, coal-water slurry (C WS) has arisen as a promising alternative to the clean fuel. CWS is a solid-liquid two-phase coarse dispersion system, which is an unstable thermodynamically system, therefore the additive agent especially the dispersant agent is significant for the preparation of the excellent coal-water slurry. Conventional dispersants with higher prices and poor stability are susceptible in complex synthesis process, which limits its application. In recent years, the CWS dispersant SAF has been synthesized and used for the preparation of fine performance coal-water slurry with lignin sulfonate (wood sodium). The major results of this work include the following aspects:(1) The SAF was synthesized with optimal molar ratio of formaldehyde:acetone anhydrous Na2SO3:H2O is2.1:1:0.5:1.6. The reaction was accomplished at70℃for3h through the orthogonal experiment. The optimum amount of SAF used in coals obtained from Yangchangwan that contain4.24%,12.89%,18.49%of ash were0.8%,0.5%,0.5%, respectively. Maximum slurry concentrations of the CWS prepared from above three coals were66%,65%,68%, respectively. The CWSs that the slurry concentration was65%were prepared by above three coals. The stability of CWS with12.89%and18.49%of ash were excellent, and the stability of the CWS prepared by the coal with4.24%of ash containing pentiful dispersants was better.(2) The optimum amount of Lignin sulfonate used in Yangchangwan coals that contain4.24%,12.89%,18.49%of ash were0.2%,0.2%,0.8%, respectively. Maximum slurry concentrations of the CWSs prepared from above three coals were65%,67%,62%, respectively. The CWSs that the slurry concentration was65%were prepared by above three coals. The stability of CWS with12.89%and18.49%of ash were excellent, and the stability of the CWS prepared by the coal with4.24%of ash was worse.(3) A series of composite dispersant were prepared on the basis of SAF and lignin sulfonate (w/w,5:1,4:1,3:1,2:1,1:1,1:2,1:3,1:4,1:5). The optimum amounts of compound-dispersant used in coals obtained from Yangchangwan that respectively contain4.24%,12.89%,18.49%of ash were0.8%,0.5%,0.2%. The optimum mass ratio of the SAF and lignin sulfonate were5:1,4:1,1:2. Maximum slurry concentrations of the CWSs prepared from above three coals were70%,69%and70%, respectively. The CWS that the slurry concentration was65%was prepared by above three coals. The stability of CWS with18.49%of ash was the best, and the stability of the CWS with12.89%of ash was better and that of the CWS with4.24%of ash containing pentiful dispersants was better.
