Naphthalimide and its derivatives are very excellent fluorescent dyethat is often used as a fluorescent signal group in the field of chemicalsensors. In this work, The intelligent chemosensors for copper ions can berationalized by optimizing reporter and chelator. The details were shownas follows:1. Design and synthesis of naphthalimide chemosensorIntroduction of aldehyde to naphalimide at4position is a key to thesynthesis prosess. It is difficult for direct introduction of aldehyde, due tothe chmical envrinment of naphalimide. The reactive intermediate wasprepared by introducing cyano and then reducing it to aldehyde. This isthe first time introducing of aldehyde to naphalimide at4position whichis important for expanding the application of naphalimide. We furthersynthesized the receptors with amino and oxygen, sulfur and othermiscellaneous atoms. A series of chemosensor were synthesized byoptimizing reporter and chelator.2. The properties, sensing mechanism and its preliminary applicationof the copper ions chenmosensorBy the combination of naphthalimide and diaminomaleonitrile, oneof the above chemosensors was snythsized which shows sensitive andselective to copper ions. The performance of the chemosensor wasin-depth explorated by UV absorption and fluorescence spectra. Thesensing mechanism was initial explorated by ESI mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, the calibration curve and calculation of bindingconstants. Preliminary analytical application was carried out.
