As the continuous development of industry, the technique of blasting has been used in more and more project. When people have become accustomed to the enormous convenience of the blasting, at the same time, blasting hazards caused by seismic waves make us have to research the characteristics of it. In order to prevent hazards, a prediction model of blasting seismic wave is constructed. The paper is support by the project of National Natural Science Foundation (item number:51064009). Combined with existing research, the theory of wavelet packet analysis is used to analyze the Characteristics of blasting seismic wave near central by rock model blasting. At the same time, a prediction model of wavelet packet is set up. The main research methods and results are as follows:(1) After the burst of small doses several times on a large rock model, According to the least squares method of regression analysis on the recorded signal of BlastMate Ⅲ, the parameter value K、a with the field characterization were got.(2) Wavelet packet energy spectrum analysis is used to research the different factors which affect the blasting vibration by MATLAB programming. Then the distribution characteristics of band energy of the blasting seismic wave can be knew, which in different maximum segment dose, different distance to explosive’s center, different deck and charge mode of millisecond blasting. Some propagation and attenuation characteristics of blasting seismic waves which near central are discovered and verified.(3) The wavelet packet technology has been used to extract blasting vibration component with different frequency bands by the author. Then the decreasing law of each frequency band blasting vibration component is studied. A model of the muti-bands wavelet packet coefficients to predict blasting vibration signal has been set up which considered field decreasing law. After analysis and comparison of large amounts of data, the predicting model which author set up has higher precision and better practicability than other blasting vibration prediction models.The all study of near central blasting above improves people’s understanding of blasting seismic wave characteristics. At the same time, the prediction model which author set up with the theory of wavelet packet provides a reference and inspiration for the research of blasting seismic waves in the future. It has some practical value for disaster prevention and mitigation in actual blasting.
