The incremental forming of sheet metal belong to partial plastic forming, this theoretical study involves a series of nonlinear problems, which focus on the problems of the current related academic fields.The key theoretical study of the incremental forming of sheet metal is studied by using the theoretical research, finite element simulation and numerical solution and validated theoretical research through the experiments. In the following job, Established the circular sheet dynamic differential equation through the reasonable hypothesis, And the numerical solution of equation was got by using finite difference method. Through bulding the finite element model of single point incremental forming analysis the forming process. Finally, a series of experiments about single point incremental forming ware proceeded using the factorial method.The main research results are as follows:1.According to the characteristics of plastic forming of sheet metal and the basic assumptions of sheet plastic forming, the dynamic equilibrium differential equation of plastic forming was established, laying the foundation for the theoretical study of incremental forming of sheet metal.2.The finite difference format of axisymmetric problems ware established by using finite difference method, And got the numerical solution by Matlab. The correctness of the difference format was validated by the comparison of finite element simulation and the numerical solution.3.The single point incremental forming finite element model was established by loaded the finite difference format of the clamped circular plate in any point concentrated loading.4.This research analyzes the basic characteristics of the incremental forming, a series of experiments about single point incremental forming of sheet metal ware proceeded. Show that as the radius of tools, feeding and thickness of sheet metal increases the force of the toolhead increase. But moderate increase feeding can shorten the time of forming, improve forming efficiency, and get more forming amount. Increase speed can significantly shorten forming time, but had a little impact on the forming limit of sheet metal. Early in forming with the rise of half-angle the rise gradient of forming force increases, but had less effect on the size of the forming force while stationary phase.5.From compareing simulation results and experimental results, show that the theoretical study of incremental forming is correct, therefore, build foundation for the application of this new technology.
