In order to ensure the smooth progress of mining operations and the human safety in mine, correct and effective evaluation methodology for the stability of pillar is necessary. There are many monitoring and analysis methods for the stability of pillar without the criterion for overall merit. So in this paper a method based on D-S evidence theory for analyzing the stability of pillar through acoustic emission and stress data has been established. The main conclusions are:(1) In order to solve the problem in artificial identification of the fringe pattern, a new identification method was proposed. Firstly, spatial Filtering was used to balance the intensity of fringe pattern. Secondly, color difference vector was drawn on the marked change direction under RGB color space as samples. Corresponding correlation coefficient the identified fringe pattern was contrasted with the samples for The preliminary fringe orders can be obtained by correlation coefficient analysis between samples and the fringe pattern to be identified. Finally, the preliminary fringe order on different directions can not be same due to the fringe pattern in actual projects not to be consistent with the sample completely. Therefore, fuzzy reasoning system was adopted as a comprehensive method to determine the final fringe order. Actual applications showed that this method has a better precision in identification.(2) Based on b value and fractal dimension the data of acoustic emission(AE) was analyzed, then a recognition frame (?) was built after the analysis results were integrated by D-S evidence theory. A modified D-S evidence theory was used due to b value and fractal dimension has obvious correlation. The belief function of b value and fractal dimension were researched through the previous conclusion and AE numerical simulation of RFPA2D and RFPA3D.(3) The stability of pillars was analyzed by limit equilibrium method on the basis of the data of stress monitoring, then the result was integrated with the results of (2) by D-S evidence theory. In order to avert the paradox, down-focus allocation method was chosen. The belief function was fixed by engineering experience. The combination results were used to stability analysis of pillars in Taibai Gold Mine, Shanxi Province, that achieved anticipated effect.(4) A software was compiled by Matlab software based on the above achievements. And that provide a software support for stability evaluation of pillars in mine.
