Based on studying of formation mechanism, characteristics and emissions rules of drilling diesel exhaust emissions, and compared with foreign advanced diesel engine exhaust handling technology, a new design for the site condition and engineering experience is put forward by this date to accommodate the simple structure, small resistance, filtration efficiency high, capture wide range of particle size, low energy. The modified: model is used to compute the gas turbulent flow in this device and conventional electrocyclones, by comparing the results can get the flow field3D velocity distribution laws in the exhaust gas treatment device. This analysis can provide a basis for optimization design, and field test can be used to analysis of this device performance and its influencing factors.According to the numerical simulation result analysis and compared with conventional cyclone separators, the tangential velocity fluctuate largely in this device, and the average tangential velocity is reduced, leading to the average tangential velocity of the outer-vortex area decreased by20%. Owing to the effect of corona wires, the flow in the inner-vortex is more turbulent. The axial speed in the downward flow zone for this device is slow, while it is quick in the upward flow zone. Comparatively speaking, radial velocity has a smaller order of magnitude and show nonaxisymmetry distribution. On the whole,3D velocity distribution in the treatment device is in correspondence with that in the conventional cyclone separators.According to the research of numerical simulation and velocity distribution laws, we can draw on the reasons why the corona wires have effects of decreasing pressure drop and verify that the flow resistance of the decrease is in favor of tail gas discharging device, which can avoid back pressure to rise in diesel engine, or even flameout. It is in line with the original design concept.The test done in PetroChina Southwest Oil&Gasfield show that exhaust gas treatment device has a significant purification effect on PM and has a certain effect on NOx. It has significant benefits to environmental protection. It is the first time to combine cyclone separation technology with electrostatic trapping technology and apply in drilling diesel engine.
