| Recently, the application of micro-reactors for chemical research has drawn a large number of attention. The micro-reactor is a kind of continuous flow tubular reactors. The typical dimensions of which is much smaller than the traditional reactors. Due to this microstructure and high surface area-to-volume ratio, it has particularly excellent heat and mass transfer characteristics. By introducing such a reaction system into the organic reactions, the temperature of the reaction can be controlled precisely. And the reactants can be mixed immediately in accurate proportion, which increase the reaction yield, selectivity and safety.Classification Code:O622.6Firstly, the structural characteristics, design and construction, and catalytic modification of the micro-reactor were reviewed, and examples of its application and development status in organic synthesis were introduced。Then, we built a micro-reactor system. Use this system, the preparation of dihydro-pyrimidine compounds through Biginelli reaction were achieved. And a series of dihydropyrimidine compounds were synthesized in this reaction system. With this method, a high level control of reaction process was achieved successfully because of fast mixing and exactly control of residence time. Compounds have been synthesized at excellent yields within much shorter reaction time than traditional methods and successfully avoided use of lewise acid. Finally, we constructed a dual-injection micro-reactor system to study the dehydration of substituted1-phenylethanol. The product of the dehydration can easily form the polymer under traditional reactors which limits its application. But in the micro-reactor system, the dehydration reaction can be performed quickly and successfully due to the efficient heat transfer; and the product can be exported to avoid form the polymer because of the reactants keep flowing in the micro-reactor. Compared to the conventional reactor, the system has the advantages of high efficiency, high yield and selectivity. |
