In industries of China, enterprises are facing more and more challenges, the production efficiency needs to improve, the operating costs need to reduce, and also to meet requirements of environmental protection, which is the only way to occupy a place in today’s competitive global market. The technology of AC and DC speed control can play a positive role in the enterprises to address these challenges, so the technology of AC and DC speed control has wide application in industry. It is very important to know what is the technology, which is not only to master the principles of AC and DC speed control, but also should learn how to operate speeders which are the most used in the market, so the theory and the practice are combined. Based on this, the development of one experimental device for practicing to use the speed control of AC and DC in the industrial field as much as possible has a high practical significance.The Wincc software is used in the upper level of this experimental device to monitor the status of the equipment and change the motor speed directly;The system mid-level has the S7-300PLC as the controller and a bridge for communication of the speed control device and PC,which is the mid-range type PLC in Siemens; The system lower level is the AC and DC speed control equipments and motors. The experimental device of speed control includes DC rectifier6RA70andAC converter6SE70which belong to MasterDrive series in the Siemens and S120speed control device which belongs to the SINAMICS series.The experimental device, as the platform for innovation, is used by the undergraduate and postgraduate in teaching and research. The systems of industrial automation have improved from stand-alone PLC control to multiple PLC and network control with the human-machine interface. The experimental device uses the PLC as the core, down to connect remote I/O slave through the bus and network technology,up to transmit information with the HMI device, to achieve a highly consistent data management, unified programming and configuration environment and standard communication architecture, that provides a fully integrated system platform for the production from the field level to control level and process control.
