The skyline is one of the important control indicators in urban planning in China, the current, the beautiful degree skyline rely mainly on the experience of the experts to determine, lack of scientific and advanced assistance method, has the subjective freedom. At the same time with three dimensional space characteristics skyline of the index, place them in a realistic3DCM environment quantitative analysis, is theoretically discussed the quantitative method of reasonable skyline, topic has great theoretical significance and practical value.This paper mainly discussed from the following several aspects:first, the article puts forward the purpose, significance and the innovation of this paper place, this paper expounds the research dynamic, and the paper’s research content and structure framework are illustrated. Second, the basic theory of3D city models and the method of constructing3DCM was analyzed, and good theoretical basis for the below3DCM in application of skyline analysis. Third, combed the concept, classification and the influencing factors of the city’s skyline, researched principle and method of the city’s skyline quantitative extraction based on3DCM, and Its projection to the cylindrical surface and then use the method of cylindrical projection in cartography, and then the cylindrical surface along a bus expands to a two dimensional plane, and use cubic spline interpolation curve fitting of the skyline. Fourth, From the micro-level and spatial point of view based on the principal factor of the cylindrical projection of the city skyline and its various sub-factors, and then through the author’s own programming code to the sub-factors control the outcome of the composite overlay and comparison made of the samples to conduct a public survey results carried out in variousfactor of the average, standard deviation, and factor tolerance calculation to determine the selected observer’s visual, in the form of roof construction, building the difference between the properties and the overall skyline shape as the impact factor of the evaluation system. Fifth, the city skyline evaluation method is applied to the Xi’an city center (bell tower surrounding) an empirical study. Finally, the author summarizes the outlook for the full text of the main conclusions and follow-up study.This paper focuses on the city’s skyline extraction method for innovation, as well as to the city’s skyline evaluation system theory of exploration, this paper can expect after the city’s skyline of space to the ideology of the new ways and research to provide some new methods.
