With the technological advances of automotive electronics, automotive instrumentis bound to follow the development of electronic car dashboard instead of themechanical and electrical car dashboard-style has become a reality, the futuredevelopment of the car dashboard instrument of the CAN bus as the maindevelopmenttrend.This article described the development of automotive instrument, the body of thebus technology, analyzes the technical requirements of independent research anddevelopment of a major domestic auto companies CAN bus car instrument, study designbased on a CAN bus electronic step into the motor vehicle instrument cluster. Thehardware used in Freescale’s automotive-grade instrument dedicated chip MC9S12H512central processing unit, transceiver hardware platform NXP TJA1040and TJA1041.The software analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the car dashboard design platform,modular instrument software. For the special nature of the automotive industry,anti-jamming capability of the hardware and software compliance and stability ofin-depth consideration, through the design and test results were modified accordingly toachieve the established design requirements and passed the test.The platform of the considerations in the design, just the software for targetedupgrades and improvements can be implemented on this basis-platform portability,provides a complete and reliable for the future is similar to all-electronic automotiveinstrument application solutions and experience. And through a software upgrade onthis basis, the establishment of a more powerful and more complex systems; The systemis now in the development and application of high-end automotive instrument providesa complete solution.
